About the role:
As an Accounting Specialist within our Accounting & Reporting team, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our financial processes. You will be responsible for validating and managing the accounting activities of one or more legal entities within West Coast Supply Group, supporting the company’s financial integrity and operational excellence.
In this role, you will work closely with your colleagues in the accounting team as well as cross-functional departments such as operations, logistics, and commercial teams. Your expertise will help ensure that day-to-day accounting transactions are processed correctly, financial data is up to date, and all reporting obligations are met.
The position requires you to stay alert to changes in internal processes or external regulations that could impact financial administration. You will prioritize tasks, make informed decisions, and help ensure that financial records comply with accounting principles and company policies.
Responsibilities::
Accounting
- Monitor and evaluate all accounting processes to ensure timely and complete financial administration in accordance with laws, regulations, and internal requirements.
- Perform daily accounting operations:
- Issue invoices.
- Process bank statements.
- Manage fixed asset administration.
- Process cost allocations, revaluations, salary journals, accruals, provisions, and tax bookings.
- Approve suppliers and customers in the ERP system.
- Ensure reliable reporting and reconciliation of trial balance amounts, including taxes:
- Prepare and submit VAT, CBS, and ICP returns.
- Prepare and submit Statiegeld returns.
- Prepare weekly Consumption Tax payments and quarterly Consumption Tax returns.
- Prepare packaging tax returns.
- Monitor and manage communication with external parties.
- Reconcile intercompany balances.
Financial Reporting
Monthly Closing Process
- Support monthly closing processes and meet internal deadlines for the Accounting & Reporting team.
- Ensure trial balance reporting follows the matching principle and accrual-based accounting.
- Obtain and review information from operational teams to prepare and challenge monthly accruals.
- Ensure timely reporting of trial balance, including performing analytical reviews.
Annual Reporting Process
- Participate in interim process inquiries by external auditors and provide supporting documentation and process descriptions.
- Support the year-end audit process, including providing information for sample testing, goods reconciliation, and other audit requirements.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Financial Bachelor
- Languages: English (fluent)
- IT Knowledge: Microsoft Office Skills, Excel skills, ERP (Microsoft Dynamics Navision) Nice to have: BI skills (Preferably Qlikview)
- Experience level: Experience in wholesale accounting and VAT administrations
